the Burnham Open, quite a few of us from Wallingford took part. We did not win the day, but we had a lot of fun playing with the other clubs.
On Sunday 5th June Three players from Wallingford took part in the Summer Triples at Bourne End - a very poor showing all round, but they only have three pistes, so just as well.
Sunday 29th saw three members go from PW go to Newbury to help the Rotary with their fund raising petanque in the square while PW and other clubs, making 34 players, played Regional Mixed Pairs. We had a lovely day, weatherwise until about 3 when it started raining! PW did not do as well as they should have seeing it was home ground!
We were to play for the Dotty Singles Cup this evening (29th June 2016) but CATS and DOGS are forecast so we will defer the Singles match until the 13th July now - members only and only those who have replied on Teamer. If we have more people playing I will have to redo the draw and perhaps play over two days as we need all 8 pistes ....
On the 17th July is Round 3 of the Regional Team Qualifying Series to find 12 teams to go to the Inter-Regionals in Hayling Island (So far the PW team is 12th, down from 7th!)
Then on 27th July we have the DOUBLES MATCH for the PW dotty cups, 31st July the Thames Valley Memorial Trophy - a mixed team melee organised by Paul
7th August is the Arborfield Open Day and 21st August is the PW Open Day.
These are a few of the events on offer, a full list from June to the end of 2016 is available on Fixtures, so don't say you have not been told! Just keep having fun.
