Due to circumstances beyond my control I have, with reluctance, had to CANCEL the Horse Racing Event which was to be held in April. Maybe later in the year.
After a pretty dismal February, weather-wise – very cold, snow, rain, and quite a few cancellations - we are heading into warmer weather at last. We did have one very nice day during February. Six of us went down to Crondall in Hampshire to play in their Valentine's Day Melee – and we had a lovely time. They were very friendly and welcoming and to our relief we played well and, although none of us won, we didn't disgrace ourselves – so thanks to our coach we are becoming a force to be reckoned, well we like to think so anyway!
Last week, early in March, we played at Aston on Sunday again and although we wrapped up, it was actually rather pleasant. A member donated the little red cloths as part of our fundraising drive (we need to raise quite a bit of cash to build a terrain. An extremely generous benefactor donated the embroidery and the finished articles arrived earlier in the week. The pictures shows us proudly displaying our new little cloths. If other members want one – see the Secretary – she will have them for sale for club funds! Thanks Gwen for a lovely job.
I still want to remain anonymous for now but I am an even smarter mouse ... and I love to play petanque ......
